Display your designs

When the New Year begins, everyone likes to start their spring cleaning to make way for new ideas. When you own a retail space with inventory inside you have be more creative. Keep in mind that a little can do a lot to change a space without having to close down. One great idea is to paint an accent wall a new color; it can spice up the space and make the room seem larger. If painting is too time consuming another way would be to add colorfully printed fabric or wallpaper on one of your walls is another way to achieve the same effect, while adding eye-catching textures and patterns to your store.

Direction of merchandise plays an important role to how your customers purchase their items. There are ways to draw them in to the higher priced items by making them relate-able to your consumer’s home. Displaying items on various levels maximizes space and is visually appealing to customers, thinking about your whole design from the ceiling down to the floor. Hanging shelving at different levels is the easiest way to achieve this effect. You also can mount drapes and other items from the ceiling to the floor to draw the eye up and create the sense of a larger space

Color is one of the biggest appeals to consumers, it has the ability to feel inviting and instantly attracts them to the merchandise your displaying. Neutral colors such as ivory or gray works great with furniture and flooring. It allows you to use your products as the bold colors, such as carpeting that comes in various shades. Allowing your consumer to match items in their own homes, without confusing them with over thought design techniques. Sectioning off areas of a small shop is challenging, but tall, open bookcases can be an effective way to divide the space, as well as display products and create an airy feel. Open bookcases are also flexible, allowing you to change both the layout and the merchandise easily.

Lighting is probably the hardest effective tool to use in lay out of your store. Maximizing every inch of your design space is critical. If a corner of your store is not well lit, that square footage is as good as lost. Combining the use of track lighting, scones, and even picture lighting are great ideas to complete the look that you desire.
